Post-Punk Fortune Telling

Post-Punk Fortune Telling

The KVB Hands (2012)

Some say your future is written in your hands—those intricate lines crisscrossing your palms aren’t just random marks but a cosmic roadmap to your life. Others, however, believe they simply mirror the person you already are.

Look closer. Your heart line: Does it swoop high and deep across your palm? Emotions may be your driving force. What about your head line: Is it bold and straight? It hints at a mind ruled by reason. And of course, the life line: often misread. Some believe its length dictates longevity, but seasoned palm readers will tell you that’s a myth. Instead, its shape indicates the way you navigate life.

But maybe it’s less about what's written in our hands and more about what we do with them. “Just take me by the hands / And I’ll show you,” Nicholas Wood of British audiovisual post-punk duo The KVB sings on today’s track “Hands”. A reminder that, in the end, what shapes our journey might not be the lines but the choices we make and the hands we choose to hold along the way.
