A Song so Beautiful, It Defies Physics

A Song so Beautiful, It Defies Physics

Raisa K, Coby Sey Stay (2025)

“Ready to feel no air between us,” whisper London-based musicians Raisa K and Coby Sey in their utterly beautiful duet “Stay”.

Now you might be wondering: Is that even possible? 🧐🧐🧐 We were curious too—so we looked into it for you.

Turns out, it’s not actually possible. Human skin isn’t perfectly smooth; under a microscope, it has tiny ridges, pores and imperfections. So, when two bodies touch, they only connect at microscopic points, leaving tiny air gaps in between.

The closest you can come to truly eliminating air between two human bodies? Skin suction—when a vacuum-like effect is created. Think of giving someone a hickey: the suction removes air, causing small blood vessels to break.

Speaking of removing air—today’s song is absolutely breathtaking. Give it a listen, and you’ll understand why.
