Quincy Jones Used to Date Ivanka Trump

Quincy Jones Used to Date Ivanka Trump

George Harrison Beware of Darkness (1970)

In 2018, in a conversation with Vulture, the legendary songwriter and producer Quincy Jones was asked about his relationship with Donald Trump. His answer: "I used to hang out with him. He's a crazy motherfucker. Limited mentally—a megalomaniac, narcissistic. I can't stand him. I used to date Ivanka, you know." Wait, what? That some people who know Donald Trump personally think he is a narrow-minded lunatic is nothing new, but that last sentence is a bombshell: Quincy Jones used to date Ivanka Trump! But no one except Quincy Jones seems to be able to remember this affair… It's possible the star producer was just cracking a mean joke. In the music world, Trump tends not to be popular. Twenty-nine artists, including some close friends of Jones, have already felt the brunt of Trump's misuse of their music for his election campaigns, which resulted in many Cease and Desist, including, for example, by George Harrison's estate. The Trump campaign used the Harrison-written Beatles song "Here Comes the Sun" to introduce Ivanka Trump at the 2016 Republican National Convention. The estate pointed out that Trump lacked permission to use the song, but they would graciously consider allowing him to use Harrison’s track "Beware of Darkness" instead.
