A Hot Take on Breaking Hearts

A Hot Take on Breaking Hearts

A$AP Mob Wrong (2017)

It’s no secret that marriage is on the decline in many countries. Modern relationships offer people a plethora of options and it seems more and more young people are choosing to exercise them. From polyamory, ethical non-monogamy and even open relationships, there are several new ways for people to be together, and even for those who are together and monogamous in the long term, tying the knot isn’t a given. Options are great—well, they can be great, but being so spoilt for choice in how to love, are Gen Y and Gen Z more or less in love? Are our choices making us happy?

Apparently, when millennials in Western countries do get married, they are more likely to stay married. Perhaps because social pressure to get married has lessened, people end up building relationships from a place of freedom and desire, and that is so cool.

Each of us derives their joy, peace and self-esteem from different sources, so it’s a big ask to compare the well-being of generations as it relates to relationships, but it appears that the changes in our societal attitudes toward marriage and relationships do have positive outcomes. And with so many options, nobody needs to cheat, even if the most famous members of the A$AP Mob , A$AP Rocky and A$AP Ferg, have found a way to make such a hot song about infidelity. The boys from Harlem are hitting and spitting over a fire Harry Fraud beat with this bop—and like they say, they know “it’s wroooooooong.” Such a jam.
