18+ Crow (2014)
Do you remember the yearning to come of age? The keen excitement to be an adult and to finally get to taste some freedom? In most countries turning 18 will bestow that right upon a person: the right to legally call yourself an adult.
It's so sweet at first, the dreaming, the scheming, the hopes for the future, but then reality dawns, and we realize that we are responsible for ourselves and can be held accountable for our actions. Worse still, society can rightfully begin prodding us about what we will do with our lives and how we’re going to go about making that happen. Perhaps when eighteen rolls around, not everyone is prepared for such a burden. If that's the case, then count yourself lucky if you aren’t from North Korea, where the age of majority is 17, or Cuba or Indonesia, where it's 16 and even 15, respectively!
18+ is such an elite name for a musical outfit. It immediately evokes images of being carefree and finally at liberty to partake in the fun grown-ups have been indulging in and keeping to themselves. 18+ is actually a duo who seem to love to make music about sex, which is unsurprising given their moniker. Today’s song “Crow” is from their debut album, Trust. It is so smooth, a hypnotic swirl of femme and masc vocals, provocative lyrics and ultra-cool delivery. Sensual and delicious, as being young should be.
Dig Deeper

Brick is a neo-noir set in a high school inspired by the works of Dashiell Hammett. It is a classic mystery movie, but the protagonists are all teenagers. The film was directed by Rian Johnson, who would later go on to direct the popular Knives Out and Glass Onion films. The dialogue, the grading, the story are all very mature, but the context of the American high school contrasting with the dark themes of drugs and criminal activity makes it that much more salacious. It was released to critical acclaim and is generally considered a cult classic, but most importantly, it’s a fun watch even for adults.
